Environmental Systems in the Automotive Industry

Description
The aim of the course is to give engineers, particularly in the automotive industry, the competence to integrate environmental concerns in their work, and the ability to form the basis for decisions that include environmental parameters. The lecturers in the course are researchers from Chalmers and invited lecturers from Massachusetts Institute of Technology MIT and The University of Tokyo.

Content
The course will cover the following themes:
1. Sustainable development will provide an overview over the environmental and sustainability concerns.
2. Drivers and barriers to environmental work in automotive industry will cover the regulatory context which partly drives environmental improvement in industry and the more market and business related drivers for environmental improvement.
3. Technical Strategies for environmental improvement.
4. Methodologies for environmental assessment on the performance and potentials of technical options. Life Cycle Assessment.

Scope
Web based course with web lectures, on-line discussions and assignments. The course material is accessed through a web-based learning platform. All course activities and communication with teachers and other participants is done using the learning platform.
The course is given during an approximate period of 20 weeks requiring 10-15 hours per week of course work.
Course language is English.

  • 4-8 veckor innan starten för programmet/kursen: 25% av program-/kursavgiften. För kurser inom Sjöfart: 0% av program-/kursavgiften

Avbokningen måste ske skriftligen. Avbokning av logi sker i enlighet med hotellens avbokningsregler. Vi accepterar en kollega som ersättare för den ursprungliga deltagaren.
